Nick Frentz - Attorney
Following graduation from Davis High School (California) in 1980, Nick attended Macalester College, St. Paul, Minnesota. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1984. He went on to law school at William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, where he was on the William Mitchell Law Review in 1986-87, and received his law degree in 1987. He joined Frentz and Frentz in 1987 and became a partner in 1989.
Nick serves as an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association and currently serves on the Board of Governors of the Minnesota Trial Lawyers Association. A certified Civil Trial Specialist, certified by the Minnesota State Bar Association, Nick is admitted to practice in all Minnesota courts, Federal District Court and the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. He has earned the highest legal ability rating by Martindale-Hubbell—the AV rating, indicating "preeminent legal ability, experience, integrity and overall professional excellence." According to Martindale-Hubbell, Nick is the youngest AV rated lawyer in Mankato.
Nick lives in North Mankato with his wife Jill and four children. Nick is active with several Mankato area charities and schools, enjoys youth sports, and has served as a volunteer judge for Minnesota State High School League mock trial competitions since 1994.
Frentz and Frentz is a supporter and sponsor for the Mankato Area Hockey Association (MAHA), and supporter of local area charities and organizations such as Mankato Twins, Southern Minnesota Fellowship of Christian Athletics, Minnesota State University-Mankato Athletics, Mankato Area Catholic Schools (MACS), Mankato Area Youth Athletic Association (MAYAA) Football, Junior Achievement, Educare, the YMCA and YWCA programs, various school-related functions, the United Way, M.A.D.D. and the American Cancer Society.

Brand founded Frentz and Frentz with his brother John Frentz in November of 1983. He practiced personal injury for 16 years. He is experienced in handling personal injury claims and has successfully advised thousands of injured persons and resolved these claims by settlement, arbitration and trial. He now consults on all matters pertaining to the firm.
Brand lives just outside of Mankato with his wife of 24 years, Vycki. He is the father of Nick A. Frentz, and has two other grown children, and ten grandchildren. Brand is active in many outdoor activities, including canoeing, camping, and cross-country skiing.

John C. Frentz founded Frentz and Frentz with his brother Brand Frentz in November 1983, following his successful private practice in Mankato since 1966. John is a lifetime resident of Mankato, and was instrumental in all facets of Frentz and Frentz operations before his retirement in 2000. John still consults on matters of interest to the firm. John lives in Mankato, and has two grown children and five grandchildren, all of whom live in Mankato. John enjoys traveling, camping and reading.
Kim Connell - Legal Assistant
Kim is a graduate of Slayton High School and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Mankato State University. She has been employed at Frentz and Frentz since 1989. She works directly with our clients, monitoring their medical care as they recover from their injuries, facilitating medical expense and wage loss payments and overall day-to-day management of our clients’ files.
Lynn Barker - Legal Assistant
Lynn graduated from Mankato East High School and has attended Mankato South Central College. She has worked at Frentz and Frentz since 2001. Lynn is responsible for accounts payable, and receptionist and administrative duties for our firm. Her job also includes requesting information for our clients’ files from medical providers, insurance companies, and law enforcement offices.
Sandy Abild - Legal Assistant
Sandy is a graduate of the New Ulm High School, has attended Winona State University, Minnesota State University and South Central Technical College. She returned to Frentz & Frentz in January 2005 after having worked here from 1994 to 1999. Sandy provides receptionist duties and administrative support for our office, as well as direct client support through her work with insurance companies, medical providers, police departments and witnesses and with subrogation issues.
